Dental Operating Microscope

The dental operating microscope is an integral part of every endodontic treatment performed by Dr. Robertson.  The increased magnification and illumination aid in the identification of, and access to, calcified canals or multiple canals located within one root, ensuring complete treatment with the best prognosis for success.  The microscope helps to identify and assess any vertical cracks in teeth which may negatively affect the treatment’s prognosis.  When preparing a space in the canal for post placement, the increased magnification and illumination provided by the microscope helps to stay centered in the root, avoiding perforation through the side of the root.  And for apicoectomy (root-end microsurgery),  the microscope is essential for visualizing the root anatomy and the ultrasonic preparation into the canal, and final placement of root-end filling.
